At first I thought this locket was a pin and I almost tossed it back into the bin but then I realized it was a locket and thought it was very pretty. I think I’ve got a chain floating around somewhere that I can put this on. :) It think it’s a beautiful piece and it was only $1.
My sister used to make necklaces and bracelets like this all the time but I never had the knack for it even though I loved them. I would usually just secretly steal the ones my sister had finished (Sorry Shannon!) but I found this in a bin I almost just walked past. The bin was full with thick chunky bangles, and I’m not a huge fan of bangles, unless they look nice, and these ones just looked cheap, but I noticed a little baggie sticking out and pulled out this beautifully crafted bracelet :)
I got it for $1
This is easily my favorite item I got at the yard sale. It was among thousands of pieces of jewelry in their own individual little plastic zip-lock baggies. I had been digging through for several minutes, not really coming across much but then I just took a handful and put them into the next bin in hopes of finding some treasure hidden at the bottom. Nada. But when I put that handful I took out back, a huge gust of wind came swooping by and this necklace in it’s little baggie got thrown out of the bin to my left and landed right at my feet. I kid you not, this actually happened. Naturally it was fate and I paid $1 for it :)
So this is totally some girls old uniform skirt but I kind of really like it and it’s almost exactly what I was looking for the other day. It’s a bit long so I’m going to hem it up a bit and probably add a layer of crinoline underneath to give it a bit more volume, a bit of poof, but it’s the perfect high-waisted skirt I was looking for. If only it was black…
And yes, it fit nicely in that bag that only cost $1
I am in love with this shirt. It’s another shirt that was perfectly folded when I pulled it out from under loads of clothing items. It’s pretty much as closed to brand new as you can get when thrift shopping/yard sale searching. The color is lovely against my skin tone with is great! I can’t wait to make this piece work :))
(yeah yeah yeah, it was in that $1 bag from the yard sale)
So I found this awful dress poking out if a pile of even more awful clothing items. but like this dress, I saw a bit of potential. I’ll be sure to take my scissors to this piece.
It fit nicely in that $1 bag I got and the yard sale I went to ;)
This is totally brand new. Never been worn. I pulled this out from under about 15 winter jackets. (I live in Florida, why one would even have those baffles me) Anyway I pulled it out and just by touch I could tell that it’s brand new. So I put it into that $1 bag.
I’ll find something for it. Plus I love the color <3
Honestly… I thought this was a scarf. I liked the pattern and just stuffed it into that $1 bag. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized that this was, in fact, a shirt. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it because I absolutely hate the sleeves but I’m sure with my magic scissors in hand I’ll figure something out :)
This honestly has to be the whitest shirt I have ever seen in my life. It’s like being in a dark house then stepping outside at noon after a huge snowstorm and the little unique snowflakes BLIND YOU.
Which is why this caught my eye :) this is another shirt that can be worn as a ‘boyfriend’ shirt as it is a men’s top, but feminizing it isn’t that hard.
AND GUESS WHERE I GOT IT!!!!
yep, that yard sale. In a shopping bag. With about 12 other items. For a dollar.
This is a simple tank top. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be ultra wrinkly or is those wrinkles were caused by being sandwiched between a Blues Clues hoodie and some sports printed pants, but it’s a nice neutral color and can be the perfect piece to tone down a much more ‘in your face’ piece.
and it didn’t take up much room in that fill-it-to-it’s-limit $1 hopping bag :)
